Medtech Matchday

The healthcare industry is facing challenges that require innovative solutions with access to innovative medical technology solutions - all in an international arena.

Join us on February 6 at an in-person event in Gothenburg where startups and large companies will come together to discuss the implementation of medical technology and its efficient scalability in international markets.

The event kicks off with a matchmaking session where corporates will have the opportunity to connect with Swedish medtech startups. Please note that applications to the matchmaking are closed and only companies with confirmed meetings during the session can participate.

It will continue with a conference designed to facilitate knowledge sharing, disseminate insights, and enhance networking opportunities. Registrations to the conference will be open until January 23.

The conference is divided into two sessions. The first session is titled “Effective Implementation: Where the Real Needs of Healthcare Meet the Right Solutions of Medtech”. It will be followed by “Scale-up: What Does It Take?”. Further details on the conference program can be found below.

The day will end with a joint mingle hosted by Alfa Laval.

Medtech Matchday - The Conference

In the afternoon, the event will transition into a conference with the aim of highlighting, learning, and exchanging experiences about the implementation of medical technology innovations and the conditions for scaling companies to make innovations available to a broader market. Simultaneously, we aim to reduce barriers to exchange across national and actor boundaries. Therefore, invited guests are joining from different parts of Europe and various types of organizations.

Session #2
Scale-up – What Does It Take?

Moderator: Britta Stensson, PhD and Global Head of Industry Network Life Science, Business Sweden
Why is it important for companies to be formed, develop, and grow? What conditions need to be in place for companies to develop, grow, and enter an international market? Sweden is good at ideas and the first step in commercialization – but then what? What is required in the domestic market, what steps does the company need to take, and what does the system need to support? These are some of the questions that we will ask ourselves during the conversation.
The session begins with a keynote speaker who highlights the topic, after which the panel is invited up on stage for a short presentation of themselves, their organization, and their views on challenges and opportunities.

15.30 - 15.50 Keynote with Magda Krakowiak
, Director at EIT Health Accelerator

15.50 - 17.00 Panel Discussion

Britta Stensson, Global Head of Industry Network Life Science, Business Sweden.
